Christian Credit Counselors (CCC) is a non-profit credit counseling company that offers debt management and debt consolidation to those who find themselves in more than $10,000 of unsecured debt.

The company was established in 1990 and has since helped over 300,000 people pay off their debt.

New Credit Card Interest Rates

Christian Credit Counselors says that they will negotiate with your creditors to lower your interest rate down to 0.00% to 15.99%. On their website, their credit card interest rate example is 6.34%, which we assume is their average rate.

That potential new interest rate is comparable to some of the top debt consolidation companies.

Unlike debt settlement, CCC (and other debt consolidation company’s) do not negotiate a lower debt amount you owe. Instead, they negotiate a lower interest rate with your creditors.

If you choose this debt management program, you will pay back everything you spent, but it will be less overall because your interest rates will be much lower.

Compare rates to top debt consolidation companies.

Small Company

This is a relatively small debt consolidation company. Christian Credit Counselors has around 20 employees total.

The top-ranked debt management companies on Best Debt Companys have over 200 employees. These larger companies have helped millions of people get out of debt, whereas CCC has helped 30,000.

Christian Credit Counselors claims they work with “over 400” creditors. This may seem like a lot, but the larger debt consolidation companies have relationships with over a thousand creditors.

If CCC does not have an established relationship with one of your creditors, it may be in your best interest to find a company that does.

Potentially Long Completion

Many debt consolidation companies say programs take two to three years to complete, when in reality, in the debt consolidation industry, the average is about three to four years. Christian Credit Counselors indicates that it can take almost five years with their program.

Negative Christian Credit Counselors Reviews

Again, because CCC is a smaller company, there are not as many consumer reviews out there. On Google’s review page, CCC has 2.9 out of 5 stars.

The main complaint among these reviewers is the company’s customer service. Complaints state that the customer service is unprofessional and sometimes difficult to get ahold of.

Our Recommendation

Due to their size and lack of major industry accreditations, we recommend another company for debt consolidation and counseling services such as Accredited Debt Relief. If your circumstances call for debt resolution services, we recommend Freedom Debt Relief.
