US Tax Shield is one of the nation’s most recognized tax relief agencies having been featured on broadcasting networks such as CNN, CNBC, Bloomberg, ESPN, MSNBC, and Fox.
- Free consultation
- Price protection guarantee
A free, no obligation consultation is available in order to receive and analysis of the overall tax debt carried by each caller. Consultations are approximately 15 minutes in length and during this time, a certified representative will determine the best approach to handling some of the toughest tax cases for both individual tax payers and business owners.
Price Protection Guarantee
US Tax Shield claims they provide unparalleled service when performing the initial interview to help determine not only the best plan of action, but to offer the best quote available. Pricing will be determined during the consultation, and they offer a Price Protection Guarantee – meaning there will be no hidden company costs, and the price quoted is guaranteed. We appreciate a company willing to provide this kind of guarantee, as well as making clear that these prices do not reflect filing fees, administrative costs, or actual tax payment or settlement amount paid to the IRS. Quoted prices are strictly to cover the price of their services.
The company provides a blog for interested consumers to gain insight to many tax related issues and solutions, although we cannot determine whether or not articles are updated as there are no dates associated with them.
- Lacking accreditations
- Limited consultation
- Lack of transparency
Although US Tax Shield employs individuals who hold nationally recognized and respected memberships and accreditations, collectively, the company does not hold them. While clients set up with these individual staff members may feel assured in their services, it would help build confidence with potential clients if the company went above and beyond to gain memberships and accreditations with organizations such as the NAEA, ASTPS, or the NATP.
Additionally, they offer 15 minute consultations; however, placing limits on the time to assess ones tax dilemma can lead consumers to find a company willing to take the time needed to dissect each unique burden. While consultations may be offered for a longer time frame, they would do well to make it clear.
Lack of Transparency
Another concern is their lack of company transparency. They provide information on ways to help consumers, but do nothing to communicate who they are, what they’re about, and why consumers should feel at ease when considering their services. An “About Us” section would be helpful. Instead, it seems they take on more of a sales approach.
Pricing is based case to case. There is no way to calculate an accurate fee without doing a full review of each respective client. There is no percentage rate applied to fees. Unlike other tax relief companies we have spoken with, US Tax Shield does not use the two-phase model. Charges are based on an assessment by a legal review team as to how much work resolving the case will entail. Each Service Agreement is customized for the client. Once a price is quoted, their “Price Protection Guarantee” holds the line on any additional charges above the quoted fee. “No surprise fees – Your quoted fee amount and Price Protection Guarantee is included in your Service Agreement.” Then there’s the small print at the bottom of their web page: Price guarantee covers only our service fee and does not include any filing fees, administrative cost, or actual tax payment or settlement amount to be paid to the IRS to resolve your issue.
Each case varies. For the most accurate pricing information, contact this company.
