- Client types
Accelerated Tax Solutions has been in business for over a decade. The thing that makes it stand out among other tax providers is its specialty in defending the nation’s truck drivers, who have a unique set of needs and deductions come tax time that can get rather complex. For example, driver earnings can be allotted per diem or hourly. In addition to the variations in salary, truck drivers have to file various pieces of information on 2290 forms, including various deductions, resulting in a touchy case. ATS claims to know the ins and outs concerning the IRS and trucking.
ATS provides a tax debt solution for individual taxpayers and business owners, encouraging consumers to take advantage of a free consultation to determine which plan of action will be most beneficial in tax resolution. A broad spectrum of individualized tax services are offered to help clients release liens, levies, and stop the IRS from garnishing wages. This team of tax attorneys is well-equipped to handle any and all tax related concerns in any state that they occur.
Highlights to Accelerated Tax Solutions include:
- Free consultation
- Truck driver specialization
- No enrolled agents or CPAs
- Minimum debt
- Staff transparency
- Limited educational opportunities
No Enrolled Agents or CPAs
Accelerated Tax Solutions has a team of several attorneys working on cases, and while it’s great to have attorneys, there are other areas where the company is lacking. For example, the company does not have any enrolled agents, who offer solid solutions to tax issues, or CPAs, who assist on lighter tasks such as filing tax returns, on staff. This fact negates the possibility of being certified by the National Association of Enrolled Agents (NAEA) or the American Association of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).
Another concern is that clients have to have a combined total of at least $10,000 in tax debt, which is quite high when compared to competitors who are willing to offer the same service.
Another concern worth mentioning is the history of some of Accelerated Tax Solutions’ employees. We discovered that it’s possible that several former employees of Tax Defense Network are employed by ATS, but what really left us concerned is that they may have been fired for failure to adhere to ethical standards, and ATS may have been established by this group of individuals.
Limited Educational Opportunities
Finally, this company does nothing to help educate taxpayers via its company website. Many businesses and corporations we’ve reviewed have done well to go above and beyond to educate the general public about all things tax related and extend resources and tools for general finance literacy. We would like to see this company offer these types of resources.
