The Good

Mossler Law Firm, P.C. has experience in helping hundreds of clients with debt management bringing their extensive knowledge of the law to back client’s financial legal rights. Their legal experts specialize in debt settlement, consumer advocacy and creditor harassment. Many other debt management companies are unable to offer attorney under the American Bar Association. These legal experts work for clients to ensure debt issues are resolved within standards set under the law. They are a smaller company, can lead to more personalized service.

They offer consumers a free consultation where an attorney will advise whether debt settlement is the best option and what other efforts might be made to not only reduce and/or eliminate debts, but relieve the client of some of the tension felt from constant creditor harassment.

Fees charged to clients are fair and require 50 percent of the total amount of debt enrolled however, only 25 percent of the debt will go toward attorney fees. The other 25 percent will be set away into a dedicated bank account chosen by clients. The Mossler Law Firm, P.C. is confident in their abilities to negotiate and settle even large amounts of debts successfully, but there are no guarantees that every scenario is going to work out perfectly. The best method is to set up a consultation to review personal financial history, current debt and income and to assess the situation on a case by case basis.

There is no minimum amount of debt required to retain their services and if a debt cannot be settled within reason, the money placed into the dedicated bank account will go directly back to clients.

Highlights to this company include:

  • Expert attorneys
  • No minimum amount of debt
  • Free consultation

The Bad

Working with attorneys vs. a basic debt settlement agency tends to be a little more expensive, depending on the length of the relationship and how much debt is being managed, and no money-back guarantees are offered.

Typically lawyers are able to handle debts that have been placed in judgment, but this company only handles the typical unsecured debt types.

We’d like to see them offer more in the way of debt education resources and materials. They also lack accreditations and have unclear pricing.

The Bottom Line

They are a smaller company, which may translate to more personal service. They are able to help clients with legal issues, although their legal services are limited. Overall, despite their good track record, we recommend those seeking relief through an attorney to look for a full-serviced debt settlement company over Mossler Law Firm, P.C. which may be able to help with some of the tougher types of debt.

Price

The price for working with an attorney at The Mossler Law Firm, P.C. varies depending on the amount of debt that the client wants worked on, as well as which services they’re asking for.

Up-Front Fees

The firm does not charge any upfront fees to get started working with them, the only fees paid are those associated with the services that are completed. For settlements, no fees are charged until a debt is settled.

Free Consultation

The Mossler Law Firm, P.C. offers a free consultation in which the client can expect a one on one review of financial statements, past due notices, collection notices, income information and credit information as it pertains to individual services. An attorney can then help advise whether debt settlement is the best option and what other efforts might be made to not only reduce and/or eliminate debts, but relieve the client of some of the tension felt from constant creditor harassment.

Time in Business

The Mossler Law Firm, P.C. has been in business for the 7 years.

Debt Education

There is no official debt education as part of the services offered by this firm, though they are happy to answer any questions you have about your individual case and circumstances along the way to make sure you’re comfortable and clear on what’s taking place.

Money-Back Guarantee / Cancellation Policy

All clients and potential clients are encouraged to stay in touch regularly in maintaining the agreements set up to settle debts and to assume responsibility for their part in making sure they hold up their end of these agreements.

Settlement clients that cancel are able to keep any funds they’ve accumulated in their dedicated account.

Unsecured vs. Secured Loans

Secured loans are generally protected by various laws to ensure that the creditor is paid for the loan. Because of this, the law firm mostly only deals with unsecured loans such as medical bills, credit card bills and so forth.

I requested a cancellation in May. I received a refund check in August that was returned. I am still waiting on my refund. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE. All I have heard is that their accounting department is behind and that they have switched banks. They are a RIP OFF!

Poll

  • When looking for a debt settlement company, which of these two aspects is most important to you?
  • Takes your existing debt and try to settle with your creditors for a lower amount. If you pay off the settled amount, your debt will be considered paid in full.
  • Negotiates with your creditors on your behalf.
  • Fee based on a percentage of your total starting debt or a percentage of the debt they save you.
  • Most settlement companies have you create a separate "escrow" account where you will make monthly contributions over a certain amount of time to contribute to your settlement. Once there is a substantial amount of funds to show your creditors, the settlement company will try to negotiate a lower amount of debt.
  • Combines all your debts and creditors into one monthly payment.
  • Allows you to pay one monthly payment to the consolidation company, instead of multiple payments to different creditors.
  • You no longer owe your original creditors; instead you pay one monthly payment to your consolidation company.
  • Consolidation companies can help negotiate lower interest rates on your debts and help lower your total debt payment in the long run. A lower interest rate will lower the amount you owe in the end.
  • Allows you to consolidate all your different debts into one personal loan that can be paid off over time.
  • Can offer borrowers a lower interest rate with a longer payback term (compared to high-interest credit cards or medical bills). This will lower the amount of money required to pay off the loan over time.
  • Personal loan debt consolidation can be an effective way to raise your credit score quickly (within 3-6 months).
  • Borrowers can receive funds from their loan within only a few days.
