The Good

Accredited Debt Relief Highlights
  • Excellent national accreditations
  • Debt settlement firm that has been in business since 2004
  • Overwhelmingly positive user reviews
Excellent National Accreditations

ADR has excellent accreditations. The company is accredited by the AFCC and IAPDA. These accreditations and certificates hold ADR to a higher standard, making them a trustworthy company for consumers to go for debt settlement services.

Free Consultation Offered

Company representatives of Accredited Debt Relief (ADR) help forgive debt every day and offer a free consultation designed to help people in credit card debt understand where they are financially and what options they have for reaching a credit card debt settlement and becoming debt free.

Positive User Reviews

In review after review of ADR, we see people praising them for their knowledgeable staff in their debt counseling services. Not only that, because debt settlement can be a sensitive topic, many reviewers reported how comfortable ADR representatives made them feel. In fact, the biggest complaint people had was they wished they had called ADR to obtain a debt settlement solution sooner.

Pricing and fees for Accredited Debt Relief vary by state. In general, you will pay anywhere between 4-8% annually of your total debt. The most that Accredited can legally charge a consumer is 25%. Most consumers typically pay between 15-25% (according to the company’s website). This is consistent with most debt settlement companies.

Get started with Accredited Debt Relief

The Bad

Services from ADR are only available in 34 states. Other debt settlement companies are available nation-wide. You also have to settle at least $10,000 to even qualify for ADR’s debt settlement and debt counseling services. This limits the population who can use ADR. Additionally, ADR has only been in business since 2008, which may be a concern for consumers looking to work with the most established debt management companies with longer track records for their debt settlement programs.

We did find isolated reports from a couple of people who contacted ADR and wished the company had explained the entire settlement process, including how the debt management plan would affect their credit score along with more details surrounding the monthly payment amount, however, these experiences do not seem to be the norm.

  • Service not available in all states
  • Must have over $7.5k in unsecured debt to qualify
  • Company has only in business since 2008

The Bottom Line

Accredited Debt Relief is a great option for those who find themselves with over $7,500 of debt. The company offers relatively low fees ranging between 15-25%. The company offers a free consultation and an online dashboard to help you track your debt settlement program progress. Overall, we recommend working with Accredited Debt Relief.

Time In Business

ADR has been in business for 12 years, and was founded in 2003.

Debt Education

There were no interactive tools on accrediteddebtrelief.com for potential clients to use, nor was there any indication that kits or workbooks might be available. They do, however, offer credit counseling services and consultations so they have somewhat of an educational offering. We would like to see them offer more training available on their site in addition to a blog.

Mobile Friendly

The website is mobile friendly. No mobile app is available for this company.

Cancellation Policy

Clients are allowed to terminate the program at any time. Charges are levied only for accounts that have been resolved.

Types of Services Available

It’s a bit hard to determine which services this debt relief company actually offers. The website lists the following services: Debt Consolidation, Debt Settlement,  Debt Management, Credit Counseling, Bankruptcy. ADR will also offer help with creditor calls from lending companies, collection agencies, etc.

Online Dashboard

When a customer creates an account with Accredited Debt Relief, a personal client portal is set up so the customer can check the status of their account 24/7. This allows them to stay informed of any updates and settlement amounts.

Accreditations

Accredited Debt Relief is a member of the American Fair Credit Council(AFCC)  and IAPDA.

I’ve had credit card debt looming over my head since college. I could never pay down the debt so I finally decided to search for help. I’m so glad I found Accredited Debt Relief. The staff was nice and made me feel comfortable in my stressful situation. I’ve already settled a couple of my accounts and I’m looking forward to finally having no credit card debt!

  • Takes your existing debt and try to settle with your creditors for a lower amount. If you pay off the settled amount, your debt will be considered paid in full.
  • Negotiates with your creditors on your behalf.
  • Fee based on a percentage of your total starting debt or a percentage of the debt they save you.
  • Most settlement companies have you create a separate "escrow" account where you will make monthly contributions over a certain amount of time to contribute to your settlement. Once there is a substantial amount of funds to show your creditors, the settlement company will try to negotiate a lower amount of debt.
  • Combines all your debts and creditors into one monthly payment.
  • Allows you to pay one monthly payment to the consolidation company, instead of multiple payments to different creditors.
  • You no longer owe your original creditors; instead you pay one monthly payment to your consolidation company.
  • Consolidation companies can help negotiate lower interest rates on your debts and help lower your total debt payment in the long run. A lower interest rate will lower the amount you owe in the end.
  • Allows you to consolidate all your different debts into one personal loan that can be paid off over time.
  • Can offer borrowers a lower interest rate with a longer payback term (compared to high-interest credit cards or medical bills). This will lower the amount of money required to pay off the loan over time.
  • Personal loan debt consolidation can be an effective way to raise your credit score quickly (within 3-6 months).
  • Borrowers can receive funds from their loan within only a few days.
